Mariel Paz y Miño, Ph.D.
Director of the Mental Health Clinic
Mariel is a full-time psycholgy professor inside the psychology department at USFQ. She is passionate about mental health. She received her Bachelor degree in Education and Psychology from USFQ. Later she moved to Spain where she was trained in the cognitive behavioral approach by completing a postgraduate degree in child and adolescent psychology and psycho-oncology. She received her Master in Science in Counseling Psychology degree from Northeastern University, Boston. During that time, she interned and was trained at Mclean Hospital OCD Unit. During that time she developed her interested in helping patients suffering from OCD and other severe and chronic anxiety disorders. She received he Ph.D in Educational Psychology at Capella University where she linked her counseling and clinic skills with learning in the Educational field. Mariel is a research practitoner and enjoys strenghting her clinical skills while conducting research. She is conviced that it is throught research and practice that you can achieve the necesarry knowledge to help patients grow and live a life worth living.
Andrea González Msc.
Academic Coordinator
Andrea completed her studies at USFQ and her master's degree at the University of Barcelona. She is currently a professor at USFQ and a professional at the CSM.
Mariana Garcia, Clinical Psychologist
Academic Coordinator
Mariana is passionate about learning the different processes of the human mind. She firmly believes that human beings have an inherent tendency to grow and that is why she decided to study clinical psychology. Aside from psychology, Mariana is passionate about sports. She recently climbed Cotopaxi and understood the potential we can achieve when we unify mind and body.
Juan Francisco Camacho
Administrative and Research Assistant
General Psychologist, with a sub-specialization in Anthropology. Passionate about community work and with vulnerable groups. Interested in interdisciplinary research, and in psychoeducation of different populations.
